George Coat - Handspun Midnight Teal/Iron Black HB
The George Coat is a full length overcoat-style garment with a strong shoulder, 3-button placket, and notch lapel. It cuts a very powerful silhouette, with a structured top-half and a very classic, heavy drape as it continues down the body. Warm by virtue of its heft, the George coat makes for an excellent layering piece over other styles, from tee-shirts to suit jackets, the body is cut for comfortable stacking, with room through the sleeves and functional button cuffs too. The fabric is serious — thick, heavy, and handwoven with hand-spun 100% cotton yarns. The outside is an extremely textured and slubby herringbone, with a soft hand and phenomenal drape, while the inside is lined with Indi + Ash's handwoven denim. One set of yarns is dyed a dark teal, while the other uses a natural iron-based black dye, resulting in beautiful dark blue/black combo with subtle tonal variance throughout. The low-tension hand weave gives the fabric its unique and uneven texture. The whole thing closes up with three chunky horn buttons that compliment the fabric in both color and texture. It's got two roomy pockets on the outside for your hands, with a third interior pocket for your phone or wallet, so you won't be lacking for storage, either. The back features a large single vent, with a hidden button closure that can be undone for a more relaxed drape. True to size with a relaxed fit.
