From Victorian era curiosities to early 20th century equestrian and motorcycle wear to rare WW2 era items - Black Sign garments are beautifully constructed, with a shared identity and aesthetic cohesion running through the collection to a degree we rarely see in brands focusing on reproductions & recreations. The Croft Jacket is inspired by agricultural jackets, with a simple collarless design and an asymmetrical placket. Effectively a simplified and stylized chore coat, it features three external bucket pockets and a single large interior pocket, with a multi-panel back design and flat hem that create a very casual silhouette. It's made from a 15.5oz sashiko topstitched denim fabric from Japan. It's a sulfur-dyed black fabric, and will fade over time in a manner similar to an indigo denim, except black. The extensive sashiko stitching throughout actually helps to relax the fairly heavy 100% cotton denim, giving the plush fabric a less stiff hand. Fits true to size.
