Hot off the press! This new offset lithograph print from Charles Cushing's latest oil painting, " Diamond Dreams, Philadelphia " is a celebration of 150 years of Philadelphia baseball history. The painting features Bryce Harper hitting his famous home run against the Padres in the 2023 NLCS. He is surrounded by 30+ Philadelphia baseball figures from the past 150 years. Starting from the vignette in the upper left-hand corner, that’s Robin Roberts on the mound. Below him to the left are announcers Richie ‘Whitey” Ashburn, Harry Kalas, and By Saam. Continuing counter-clockwise is Slim Jones of the Negro League Philadelphia Stars in the lower left corner vignette. Then come Gary Maddox (Phillies), Lefty Grove (Philadelphia A’s), Gene Benson (Philadelphia Stars), Eddie Collins (A’s), Ed Delahanty (Quakers/Phillies), Frank ‘Home Run” Baker (A’s), Grover Cleveland Alexander (Phillies), Mike Schmidt (Phillies), Dick Allen (during ‘Richie” Allen era, Phillies), Connie Mack (Manager, A’s), and Jimmy Foxx (A’s). Top right vignette is Steve Carlton, top center vignette depicts the entrance to Shibe Park with Benjamin Shibe (in bowler hat) to the left.
