Tackle any environment and gear up for work in our Men’s 8” Composite Toe Waterproof Work Boot. The 8” Barrett waterproof composite toe work boot is loaded with features for optimum durability, from the barnyard acid-resisting leather to the abrasion-resistant toes and ultra-rugged outsoles with oil-, slip- and heat-resisting technology. Key Features of the Carolina CA5601 Composite Safety Toe — A non-metallic toe meeting ASTM F2413 for impact (I/75) and compression (C/75), with reduced cold transfer. Dark Brown Barnyard Acid Resistant Leather Upper — Treated against the caustic chemicals found in heavy industry and on farms and ranches. Molded Abrasion Toe — A bumper over the leather where boots wear out first. Waterproof SCUBALINER™ — Carolina's sealed proprietary waterproof lining system. Mesh Lining — Breathable against the foot. Removable AG8™ Dual-Density Footbed & Pillow Cushion™ 2 Insole — An update to the AG7, with enhanced arch support over a memory-foam layer. Non-Metallic Shank — Composite support with no steel in it. Electrical Hazard Rated — Tested to withstand up to 18,000 volts at 60Hz for one minute without leakage. Cement Construction & EVA Midsole — A bonded sole that keeps the boot light and flexible. Oil-, Slip- & Heat-Resisting Rubber Outsole — Tested to hold its shape on surfaces up to 500°F. What Barnyard Acid Resistance Actually Does Manure, urine, and fertilizer are chemically aggressive. They attack ordinary leather, and a boot built for the jobsite will still come apart in a dairy barn or a feedlot. Acid-resistant leather is treated to withstand that exposure. What the Extra Two Inches Buy You An 8" shaft supports the ankle laterally and keeps mud, gravel, and sparks out. It costs you flexibility and a little heat. On broken ground, in a feedlot, or around hot work, the taller shaft earns its keep. Heat-Resisting Outsole The outsole compound is tested to hold its shape on surfaces up to 500°F — relevant on hot asphalt, near ovens and kiln
