This 8-inch version adds a taller shaft for more ankle coverage and support, on top of the same anatomical last, dual-density EVA midsole, and low-profile Vibram outsole. Key Features of the Danner Vicious 8" 13866 8-Inch Height: A taller shaft adds ankle coverage and support and helps keep debris out on rough terrain. Full-Grain Leather Upper: Leather is put through six separate tests before selection, for strength and durability on the job. Waterproof GORE-TEX® Liner: A 100% waterproof, breathable liner keeps water out while letting sweat and moisture escape. Vibram® Vicious Outsole: A low-profile 90-degree heel with added lugs and grooves for oil- and slip-resistant traction on uneven ground. Danner Trailguard™ Shank: A lightweight, supportive nylon shank for stability and underfoot protection on rough terrain. DLE-01 Last: An anatomical last with superior heel and forefoot capture, plus extra toe-box room for feet under heavy load. Speed Lace System: Tighten from toe to top in one motion for a fast, secure fit. Electrical Hazard (EH) Rated: Non-conductive soles help protect against electrical shock in dry conditions, meeting ASTM F2892 for plain-toe footwear. Why an 8-Inch Boot?
