Completely Overbuilt, on Purpose Danner didn't have to give the Super Rain Forest triple stitching. It didn't have to use leather-over-leather construction. It didn't have to completely overbuild it. But it did — and that's what makes it worthy of the name. This version adds a lightweight composite safety toe on top of the double-thick leather and GORE-TEX waterproofing, built from top to bottom in Danner's Portland, Oregon factory. Key Features of the Danner Super Rain Forest 8" Composite Toe 11550 Composite Safety Toe (NMT): A non-metallic toe that meets ASTM F2413 for impact and compression resistance, won't trigger metal detectors, and doesn't conduct heat or cold. Double-Thick Leather Upper: Full-grain leather with double layers across the toe box and top of the foot for industrial-strength durability. Waterproof GORE-TEX® Liner: A 100% waterproof, breathable liner keeps water out while letting sweat and moisture escape. Vibram® 132 Montagna Outsole: A work-specific rubber compound with deep, angled lugs for stability and traction ascending or descending. Triple-Stitched Construction: Hyper-strong thread reinforces the boot's toughest stress points. Electrical Hazard (EH) Rated: Non-conductive soles help protect against electrical shock in dry conditions under ASTM F2413. Stitchdown Construction: A handcrafted, wider platform for stability underfoot — and it can be recrafted to extend the boot's life. A Fit Note: Built on the Narrower 516 Last Because it carries a safety toe, this boot uses Danner's 516 last — a slimmer profile shaped specifically to accommodate the toe cap, unlike the roomier 610 last on the plain-toe Super Rain Forest.
