THE AUTHENTIC ON-FIELD BALLCAP OF THE 1958 DETROIT TIGERS History: Between 1953 and 1963, during what came to be known as the “Decade of Change” in baseball, six teams moved to new cities and four brand new ballclubs joined the majors. The on-cap logo for the Detroit Tigers in 1958 was a bit simpler than what we see today, with a slightly less intricate design to the classic blackletter, old english ‘D’ as well as more pronounced curves on the inside resembling the stitching on a baseball.
